Honda has unveiled a fresh logo, marking a significant shift in its automotive identity. The new design, set to adorn the next generation of hybrid and electric vehicles, symbolizes 'two outstretched hands'. This logo will be featured on passenger cars starting next year, with the 0 Series saloon and Space-Hub concept cars already showcasing it in 2024. The production version of the 0 Series saloon, launching in the US later this year, will be the first to bear the new emblem. This logo change comes as Honda aims to redefine its approach to car development, particularly in the EV market, where it has faced challenges in establishing a mainstream presence. Honda's new electric vehicles are designed to be 'thin, light, and wise,' focusing on aerodynamic performance and driver engagement. This transformation is evident in the 0 Series saloon, 0SUV, and Alpha concepts. Honda's hybrid lineup is also undergoing a dramatic evolution, with at least 13 new models planned between 2027 and 2030. These hybrids will utilize Honda's claimed 'world's most efficient' combustion-engined powertrain, offering a 10% improvement in fuel economy. The new hybrid models will share 60% of their components, including engine bays and rear floors, making them more scalable and 90kg lighter than current architectures. Interestingly, the Prelude coupé and Super-N city EV, set to arrive in the UK this year, will be the last Honda models to feature the old logo, as the new design is set to roll out from next year.
