Bold claim: Heated Rivalry is headed to Sky and NOW, expanding its footprint to UK and Ireland audiences on January 10. This steamy romantic drama—drawn from Rachel Reid’s acclaimed Game Changers series—lands on Sky and NOW in the UK and Ireland from 10 January.
The show follows rival hockey stars Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie), two marquee players in Major League Hockey whose rivalry and ambition are amplified by an undeniable pull between them. What starts as a secret fling between two newcomers soon blossoms into a years-long journey of love, denial, and self-discovery.
Across eight years, the duo chase glory on the ice while learning to navigate their evolving feelings off the rink. Torn between the game they live for and the love they cannot ignore, Shane and Ilya must decide whether there’s space in their intensely competitive world for something as delicate and as powerful as real love.
Supporting cast includes François Arnaud, Robbie G.K., Christina Chang, Dylan Walsh, Sophie Nélisse, and Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova. The series is produced by Accent Aigu Entertainment in collaboration with Bell Media’s Crave, with Sphere Abacus handling international distribution. Created originally for Crave by Jacob Tierney (known for Letterkenny and Shoresy), Heated Rivalry is now a Sky and NOW acquisition. In the UK, the series was secured by Lucy Criddle, Director of Acquisitions and Strategic Projects, and Alexander Wright, Acquisitions Manager.
Release note: Heated Rivalry premieres on Sky and NOW on 10 January.
