Tech startup founder Sean Blanchfield, who founded Demonware, is optimistic about the potential of his new AI product to revolutionize the industry. In the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence (AI), Blanchfield believes he has established one of the last businesses that won't be replaced by AI. Jentic, the company he co-founded with Dorothy Creaven, Michael Cordner, and Dr. Tilman Schaefer, aims to integrate AI into commercial systems safely. Blanchfield's early interactions with AI led him to conclude that its software generation capabilities will significantly impact the future of software companies. He predicts that AI will replace all enterprise software, creating a multi-billion-euro market for AI integration with commercial software. Jentic has already gained recognition, securing funding from Amazon Web Services (AWS) through its generative AI accelerator, making it the first Irish company to receive this honor. The company has grown from four staff members to 23 in the past year and is set to launch its first enterprise products in the new year. Blanchfield emphasizes the importance of handling high-stakes data carefully, which is Jentic's approach. His entrepreneurial journey began while studying at Trinity College Dublin in 1997, where he offered to build websites for companies. He later co-founded Phorest, a booking management software company, which is now worth millions and employs hundreds of people. Blanchfield's experience with Demonware, acquired by Activision Blizzard, further highlights his expertise in middleware technology. Despite the success, Blanchfield left the company due to the competitive culture and the pressure of ownership. Now, with Jentic, he aims to raise the bar for companies in Ireland, driven by his belief in the transformative power of AI.
